Win a trip to ANYWHERE...WestJet Flies. Los Angeles; London, England; Kingston, Jamaica; or wherever your heart and imagination lead you! Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind has launched a raffle for a WestJet "Gift of Flight". You can win a return trip for two people to any scheduled WestJet destination. A maximum of 705 tickets will be sold. Cost is $20.00 per ticket. The draw is November 29, 2019. The prize of a Gift of Flight has been donated by WestJet with 100% of the proceeds supporting the training of guide dogs and assistance dogs. Tickets and additional information are available by phoning (613) 692-7777, or during business hours at the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind's National Training Centre, 4120 Rideau Valley Dr N, Manotick, Ontario. Flights are from City A to City B and must return from City B to City A - no open jaw bookings. The winner is responsible for taxes & fees associated with the flight, upon booking. 2019-03-01Easter Chocolate Fundraiser -

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind has launched our 2019 Easter Chocolate Fundraiser in partnership with Purdy's Chocolatier. You can purchase your Easter chocolate and support Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. This program gives 25% of the profit back to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, and it's an easy way to complete your Easter shopping. Prices are the same as in Purdy's stores and many items are under $10! All Purdy's Chocolates are made FRESH in their factory and without additives or preservatives.

2019-03-16"Create with Navy" Painting Fundraiser -

"Create with Navy" in Alexandria, Ontario on Saturday, March 16 from 2:00-4:00pm. Navy has a background in fine arts and will host a painting fundraiser in support of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. She teaches the elements of a demonstration painting and encourages participants to adapt theirs to make it their own personal painting. This event is open to anyone. No previous painting experience is required. Cost is $30 per person, which includes all supplies. $5 from every ticket sold is donated to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Tickets are available here, but only until the day prior to the event. There will be no walk up entries. Visit the event page on Facebook for more information.

2019-04-06Two Beats Ahead Jazz Band Concert -

Dance to the big band sounds of the Ottawa New Horizons "Two Beats Ahead Jazz Band", in support of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. “You can dance if you want to” or just sit and enjoy the concert The concert takes place on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Orchard View Wedding & Event Centre. Doors open at 7:30pm, with your chance to meet some guide dogs in training. The music starts at 8:00pm. Tickets are available for $20 in advance ($10 for children 9 and younger). Tickets can be purchased at Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, Manotick Veterinary Hospital, or by phone at 613-692-7777. You can also pre-order an individual cheese plate for $10, which is optional. Tickets at the door will be $25.

2019-06-23Nine & Dine Golf Fun Day & Lobster Dinner -

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will host our 6th annual Nine & Dine Golf Fun Day & Lobster Dinner at The Meadows Golf & Country Club, 4335 Hawthorne Road, on Sunday, June 23, 2019. The day features 9-holes of golf with cart, plus a scrumptious, full lobster dinner to follow (chicken and vegetarian options too). Shotgun start is 2:00pm, with dinner at 5:30pm, and plenty of prizes. This is meant as a fun day of golf. Experienced players are certainly welcome. However, we encourage new or occasional golfers to join in the fun, with no pressure! Cost is $105 per player. Email events@guidedogs.ca or call 613-692-7777 for information and to sign up. Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind hosts our annual UK Day Garden Party & Tea. Stop by for authentic Devon cream tea and scones, served with English Double Devon cream. Enjoy the live music by Brian E. Lynch – Guitar and Voice. The event takes place at the National Training Centre of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, 4120 Rideau Valley Drive North, Manotick on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 12pm-3pm. This is a rain or shine event with indoor & outdoor seating. All proceeds are directed towards the training of guide dogs and assistance dogs. Tickets are available for $13 in advance at Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind or by phone at 613-692-7777. Cost at the door will be $15.

2019-09-08Guide Dog Motorcycle Ride -

Save the date and join us for our 31st annual Guide Dog Motorcycle Ride, an all-brand ride in support of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Registration will be $30 per rider. Arrive and register anytime between 9:00am and 10:00am and depart on the ride on your own or with your group. The ride is approximately 180 kms. through Eastern Ontario, followed by a return to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind for door prizes, a barbecue and a chance to meet some guide dogs in training.

2019-09-15Dollar$ for Dog$ Fundraising Walk -

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind presents our 35th annual Dollar$ for Dog$ Fundraising Dog Walk. This is an event for the public and their pet dogs to raise funds for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Raise pledges in advance and join us for a four-kilometre walk in the park on Sunday, September 15, 2019. $100 in pledges will get you an exclusive Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind t-shirt; $500 gets you a $50 gift card from a major retailer; $1,000 will get you a $100 gift card. After the walk, stick around for a bite to eat and plenty of prizes. Registration starts at 9:30am and the walk starts at 10:30. Registration information will launch in the summer.

2019-09-28Greely Lions Club Walk for Guide Dogs -

Greely Lions Club will host a Walk for Guide Dogs on Saturday, September 28, 2019. The community of Greely, Ontario is asked to rally together and walk their dogs together to raise funds for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Show up between 9:00-10:00am to get registered at the Greely Community Centre, and then join in the 4 kms. walk to Andy Shields Park and back. Stay afterwards for hot dogs, drinks and popcorn. The cost to participate is a $20 donation per family. Bring your pet dogs and join in the fun. It will be a "paws-atively" good time!

2019-11-02The Artists of Stonebridge Annual Art Show & Sale -

The Artists of Stonebridge Annual Art Show and Sale will take place on the weekend of November 2 & 3, 2019 at Stonebridge Golf Club in Barrhaven, Ottawa. The annual show raises funds for a selected charity. We are excited that Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind is the charity of choice for the second consecutive year. The show is open from 10am-4pm both days. Admission is free, but donations to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind are accepted in lieu of an admission fee. You can also meet some of our guide dogs in training during the weekend.
