Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind has launched our 2018 Christmas Chocolate Fundraiser with Purdy’s Chocolatier! You can purchase your Christmas chocolate and help support Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, providing professionally trained guide dogs to Canadians who are visually impaired since 1984. This program gives 25% of the profit back to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, and it’s an easy way to complete your Christmas shopping. Prices are the same as in the shops and start at just $4.00! All Purdy’s Chocolates are made FRESH in their factory and without additives or preservatives. Important Dates: • Order deadline is Wednesday, November 28, 2018. • You MUST pick up orders Monday, December 17 – Friday, December 21 between 8:30am and 5:00pm at Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, 4120 Rideau Valley Drive North, Manotick, Ontario. Online ordering: 1. Go to fundraising.purdys.com. 2. Click “Register” if you are a new customer or "Login” if you are a returning customer 3. The Forge Cards and Cosplay, at 1920 Bank Street in Ottawa, will host their first Pet Photos with Santa event on Saturday, November 17, 2018 Proceeds will support Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. The event runs from 10:30am-2:00pm. Bring your dog, or other well-behaved pets, and have their photo taken with Santa.

North Dundas Arts Council in Winchester, Ontario hosts a coffeehouse every Thursday evening at the Old Town Hall. Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind is an invited guest organization, and we look forward to attending on Thursday, November 22 from 7-10pm. Stop by to speak with us, learn more about guide dogs, and meet a dog or two.

Giving Tuesday is a global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Black Friday. The “Opening day of the giving season,” is a time when charities, companies and individuals join together and rally for favourite causes. Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will host our 9th annual Christmas Bake Sale at our National Training Centre, 4120 Rideau Valley Drive North, in Manotick from 9:00am-12:00pm. Stop by to enjoy some baked treats, shop, and support our cause. There’ll be lots to choose from. (No outside vendors please)

2018-12-13Gift Wrapping Store at Place d'Orléans -

Look for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind at Place d'Orléans this holiday season. We are hosting holiday gift wrapping. We’ll be waiting to wrap your gifts in exchange for your donation. For a fourth consecutive year, Place d'Orléans has been kind enough to partner with us and grant us the space for this project. We also need volunteers to wrap gifts. Email events@guidedogs.ca to add your name, if you would like to help this holiday season. And, be sure to stop by to have your gifts wrapped during all mall hours from Thursday, December 13 – Monday, December 24.
