Chances R and Beaus present the 10th annual Dining in the Dark Unseen Cuisine in support of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. There will be two sessions on Monday, May 27, 2019 at 5:00pm and 7:30pm. Doors open one hour before. Tickets are $45. The restaurant is blacked-out while you dine in the dark with a four-course meal with Beaus beer pairing. We will be set up for the resource fair from 9:15am-2:00pm, plus provide a presentation about our programs and services and be part of a panel discussion. This event is open to the public and will highlight many services, programs and facilities making life more accessible for people with disabilities in Ottawa.

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will host our 6th annual Nine & Dine Golf Fun Day & Lobster Dinner at The Meadows Golf & Country Club, 4335 Hawthorne Road, on Sunday, June 23, 2019. The day features 9-holes of golf with cart, plus a scrumptious, full lobster dinner to follow (chicken and vegetarian options too). Shotgun start is 2:00pm, with dinner at 5:30pm, and plenty of prizes. This is meant as a fun day of golf. Experienced players are certainly welcome. However, we encourage new or occasional golfers to join in the fun, with no pressure! Cost is $105 per player. You can also join in a rounders pick-up match or get a tutorial from the Ottawa British Meetup Group, The event takes place at the National Training Centre of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, 4120 Rideau Valley Drive North, Manotick on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 12pm-3pm. This is a rain or shine event with indoor & outdoor seating. All proceeds are directed towards the training of guide dogs and assistance dogs. Save the date and join us for our 31st annual Guide Dog Motorcycle Ride, an all-brand ride in support of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Registration will be $30 per rider. Arrive and register anytime between 9:00am and 10:00am and depart on the ride on your own or with your group. The ride is approximately 180 kms. through Eastern Ontario, followed by a return to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind for door prizes, a barbecue and a chance to meet some guide dogs in training.

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind presents our 35th annual Dollar$ for Dog$ Fundraising Dog Walk. This is an event for the public and their pet dogs to raise funds for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Raise pledges in advance and join us for a four-kilometre walk in the park on Sunday, September 15, 2019. $100 in pledges will get you an exclusive Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind t-shirt; $500 gets you a $50 gift card from a major retailer; $1,000 will get you a $100 gift card. After the walk, stick around for a bite to eat and plenty of prizes. Registration starts at 9:30am and the walk starts at 10:30. Registration information will launch in the summer.

Greely Lions Club will host a Walk for Guide Dogs on Saturday, September 28, 2019. The community of Greely, Ontario is asked to rally together and walk their dogs together to raise funds for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. Show up between 9:00-10:00am to get registered at the Greely Community Centre, and then join in the 4 kms. walk to Andy Shields Park and back. Stay afterwards for hot dogs, drinks and popcorn. The cost to participate is a $20 donation per family. Bring your pet dogs and join in the fun. It will be a "paws-atively" good time!

The Artists of Stonebridge Annual Art Show and Sale will take place on the weekend of November 2 & 3, 2019 at Stonebridge Golf Club in Barrhaven, Ottawa. The annual show raises funds for a selected charity. We are excited that Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind is the charity of choice for the second consecutive year. The show is open from 10am-4pm both days. Admission is free, but donations to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind are accepted in lieu of an admission fee. You can also meet some of our guide dogs in training during the weekend.
